Body Composition

The key devices used for body composition testing are a GE Lunar Prodigy DXA and a 4 point professional BIA instrument. The DXA machine is capable of completing whole body DXA scans in about 6 minutes per patient. Software has been installed that allows for segmental seperation of lean mass, fat mass, and bone mineral density. DXA machine operators have recieved training from GE along with the completion of radiation safety training at UNT.
